Can they find a place to put their hearts and hope this Christmas?

Beloved authors Tracie Peterson, Misty M. Beller, and Karen Witemeyer come together with this festive novella collection inspired by the Nativity story and filled with faith, promise, and romance.

The Shepherd’s Heart by Tracie Peterson
On the frontier, widowed sheep rancher Vincent Duran seeks a mother for his two children. Angel Lewis agrees to marry him despite believing Vincent will never truly love her, but as they work together during a fierce winter storm, will their broken hearts finally find peace, joy, and love?

No Room at the Inn by Misty M. Beller
When Noah Bentwood and his charge are snowed in while traveling through the Rocky Mountains, he must stay in a barn since the stage inn has no vacant rooms. Then innkeeper Hope Palmer’s family heirloom disappears, and she and Noah work together to find it before Christmas. While the snowfall holds them captive, will unexpected feelings bloom?

A Star in the West by Karen Witemeyer
Friendly correspondence with Stella Barrington evolves into something more when Harvard mathematics professor Frank Stentz arrives in Waco, Texas. As the two experiment with extending their relationship beyond letters, an impossible dilemma arises between love and logic. Will her wise man be able to calculate a way for them to be together?

Rediscover the joy of Christmas with these faith-based historical romances from bestselling authors featuring sweet Western frontier stories with themes of marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and friends-to-more.

My On A Midnight Clear Review

First, the cover is so compelling. It speaks to the time period and setting and drew me in completely. It’s so simple, but very effective for garnering attention. Now, for the stories.

I think this is a first book by Tracie Peterson for me. If you enjoy marriage of convenience stories, you’re going to love this one. Friends to more fans will also enjoy it as the two main characters have known each other since childhood. While remaining on the lighter side, the story does take a look at the struggles that can come when a grieving family, especially kids, are trying to move forward while still hurting for the ones they lost. Angel and Vincent and the kids are characters you’d like to get to know better, and their story is a sweet one to start your holiday reading off with.

I’ve read a few books by Misty Beller, and I enjoyed this one as I have the others. It is a quick and easy read full of the spirit of Christmas and romance. I enjoyed Vincent and Hope as individuals and was rooting for them as a couple. I love the idea that while Hope is capable and independent in many ways, she is completely open to love and marriage. She’s a strong character which is needed in her line of work. But she’s also so good and kind and nurturing. You see it in everything she does. These characters were a joy to watch fall in love.

A Star in the West by Karen Witemeyer is a great finisher to this collection. Little bits of humor find their way to the page which is nice. And even though I am not at all a math person, I still enjoyed this story. I love the way the author tied the title in throughout the book. And the development of romance after building a friendship through letters is great. The author does a great job of portraying the angst that a couple might face when meeting for the first time, especially when both lack a little in the area of social graces.

Overall, this collection is an easy read. I finished in one day, but it could easily be broken down over three days for a sweet read to end your evening with. They may not be full-length stories, but that doesn’t keep them from being full of enough romance and Christmas spirit to put you in the Christmas mood. For my On A Midnight Clear review I give the collection five stars.
