  • I love stories. I always have. Nothing recharges m I love stories. I always have. Nothing recharges me more than spending time in a good book. And if I've had to spend the day people-ing, picking up a good book helps me destress too.
What about you? Do you "want to be where the people are" or would you prefer a good book?

A Would You Rather Wednesday in honor of National A Would You Rather Wednesday in honor of National Receptionist Day.

I wrote my first novel, Faith's Journey, while working full-time as a receptionist at a doctor's office. I'm very familiar with attempting to write while worn out after a full day's work and coming home to take care of my kids. But doing it over, would I choose to continue working full-time as a receptionist over working part-time in fast food? That's a hard one.

You're spending more time at work for full-time. But the tired and frustrated part of part-time fast food work might make writing even harder. But, then again, with more time, I could take a power nap and still write some before family arrived home. Of course, I'd have to deal with a faster pace and more people at a fast food place too. I guess I'm just glad I don't have to make this choice!

"The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" by Mark Twain. Have you read it? It's been a while, but I think it's one of the short stories we read in high school.

Today is National Frog Jumping Day. So, it would be the perfect day to read it again or for the first time. And I have some frog jumping trivia for you today. How far do you think Rosie jumped? I'll post the answer in the comments later this evening.
